Privacy policy
Parchment collects only what the app needs to work. We don’t sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
Who we are
Parchment is a free app made by Tatjana, an independent developer in the Netherlands. We are responsible for your data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact us about privacy at parchment.coffee.contact@gmail.com.

We don’t collect your location, contacts, photo library, health data or advertising ID. The camera is used only to read barcodes live; no photos are saved.
Who receives your data
Only service providers that run parts of Parchment for us, under a data processing agreement:
- Supabase: database, login and file storage (EU, Frankfurt)
- Apple and Google: sign-in, if you choose it
- Brevo: account emails (EU, France)
- Sentry: crash reports (EU, Frankfurt)
- TelemetryDeck: anonymous usage statistics (EU)
- Open Food Facts: when you scan an unknown barcode, the barcode is looked up in their open database. No personal data is sent.
We never sell your data or share it for advertising.
Data outside the EU
We choose providers that store data in the EU. Some providers, such as Sentry for its account data and Apple or Google for sign-in, may process limited data in the United States. Where that happens, they rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Account data: as long as you have an account.
- After you delete your account: removed within 30 days.
- Usage events and crash reports: up to 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, and to restrict or object to how we use it. Most of this you can do yourself in the app: edit your profile, use Settings → Download my data, or delete your account. For anything else, email parchment.coffee.contact@gmail.com. We reply within one month.
You can withdraw consent at any time: turn off brew reminders or anonymous usage data in Settings.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Automatic recommendations
Your rank and coffee recommendations are calculated automatically from your brews, ratings and lessons. They only change what you see in the app and have no legal or similar effect on you. You can adjust your level in Settings.
Security
All data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and is stored encrypted by our providers. Access is limited to what is needed to run the app.
Children
Parchment is not meant for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
